Celebrating Women’s Art

On December 14th 2018 we celebrated 100 years since the first women in the UK actually voted in a general election with an evening of artist led creativity. Spike Island Cafe was packed with people aged 7 to over 80.

Gill and her models treated us to a parade of women dressed for each decade narrated by extracts from magazines covering women’s issues of the day ranging from corsets to Greenham Common.

After a delicious vegan Thai curry (yes, we were allowed seconds) from the Bowl of Plenty Andrea and Anna ran Print Kitchen with pasta makers for us all with the help of Deepa and Janet.
