‘I am a Chilean artist and psychologist. I research, both theoretical and pictorial, the image of the female body grounded in my cultural context.
The creator (2018) brings together my interest in the representation of the female body in Art History and the influence of Catholicism. I want to ask the question of how the image of the female body is constructed and how it is affected by cultural constructions and patriarchy. I believe that the body is not a neutral matter; rather it is culturally constructed and narrated. Judith Butler (1990) maintains that gender, as subject, is a cultural construction, it is a cultural meaning, that a sexed body assumes. I want to raise questions of how the gender construction implies the development of sexuality in a matrix of power.’
